Tell Congressman Kean: Stop Trump's Slush Fund Scheme!

ChatGPT Image May 21, 2026 at 09_16_01 AM.png

Incredible! Huge! Like nobody’s ever seen before!

That describes the corruption and outright thievery of Donald Trump and his regime.

The latest outrageous example: Trump, his sons and his business filed a bogus lawsuit against an agency he controls, the IRS, over a leak of some of his tax information back in 2020, seeking the absurd sum of TEN BILLION dollars.

When a judge seemed ready to toss out the lawsuit, Trump dropped the case. But at the same time, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche – appointed by Trump after working as Trump’s personal lawyer – announced the creation of a $1.776 BILLION dollar fund that Trump can use to reward his co-conspirators and insurrectionists who tried to overturn his 2020 election defeat.

Yes, that’s $1,776,000,000 dollars (how cute) of our tax money, stolen from the U.S. Treasury without any legal authority, to compensate people who claim they were “targeted” for ideological or political reasons during the Biden administration. Blanche did not rule out giving chunks of this cash to the thugs who attacked the U.S. Capitol and its police officers on Jan. 6, 2021 - including those who were convicted of violent crimes, but then pardoned by Trump.

What can WE, the people of New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, do about it?

FIRST – Call our current Congressman, Republican Tom Kean Junior, and demand that he join with Democrats in legislative and legal efforts to block this colossally corrupt deal. See phone numbers and suggested messages here.

(Yes, we know Kean has been absent from his job since March 5, recovering from some unidentified illness at some unidentified location. And yet, through his office, he continues to issue press releases and sign onto legislation. We also know he’s always been a faithful servant to Trump. But it's about time he lived up to his oath by standing up for the law and the Constitution.)

SECOND – Vote in the Primary Election on June 2 to help select the Democratic candidate who will run to FLIP NJ7 in November. Then rally everyone you know in the district to support that candidate against Kean (or any Republican substitute) in the November 3 election.

THIRD – VOTE on November 3rd to replace Trumpist Kean with an ethical Democrat who will actually represent the people of this district, instead of enabling chaos and corruption.

1. (Calm)

Hello, my name is [NAME], and I’m a constituent from [TOWN].

I’m calling to urge Congressman Kean to take action to block President Trump’s attempt to create a $1.8 billion fund to reward his allies with taxpayer funds that were never appropriated by Congress.

This is not about party politics. Congress controls the power of the purse. Taxpayer money cannot simply be redirected by the Executive Branch without congressional authorization and oversight.

Congressman Kean should immediately join the more than 90 members of Congress in their legal challenge to this fund, and should vote for legislation to block it. He must defend the constitutional authority of Congress over taxpayer’s money.

Silence is not leadership. We need Congressman Kean to act now.

Thank you.

2. (Outraged)

Hello, my name is [NAME], and I live in [TOWN] in Congressman Kean’s district.

I am outraged that President Trump is attempting to take $1.8 billion of taxpayer money and use it to pay off political allies, without approval from Congress.

That money belongs to the American people — not to Trump, not to his cronies, and not to the Executive Branch acting alone.

Congressman Kean swore an oath to defend the Constitution, including Congress’s exclusive authority over federal spending. If he stays silent while the President bypasses Congress and hands out taxpayer money to his cronies, he is betraying that oath.

More than 90 members of Congress have already moved to stop this abuse of power. Congressman Kean must publicly support blocking this fund immediately.

Please tell the Congressman his constituents expect him to act now!
