Tom Kean Jr.
NJ7 representative since 2023. Strong supporter of President Trump, has Trump's endorsement for re-election. Served in NJ State Senate 2003-2022. His father is former Gov. Thomas Kean.
Kean was absent from Congress from March 5 to June 30. During that nearly four-month absence, his office said only that he was being treated for a "personal medical issue," giving no other details. In a speech in the House on June 30, Kean revealed that he had been hospitalized for treatment of depression. He said he was now "healthier, stronger, and excited to return to the work I love."

Beware of Republican dirty tricks
In the run-up to the June primary, a group calling itself Real Change PAC - posing as a progressive organization - put out ads claiming Rebecca Bennett isn't a "real" Democrat and that she "stands with ICE."
Guess what? Real Change PAC is funded by Republican dark-money groups.
The lies aimed at Bennett were part of a widespread effort by these groups to pose as progressives and attack Democratic candidates from the left.

The Bennett campaign responded to the false ads on May 26, saying the "desperate last-minute attacks only prove that I am the candidate Tom Kean Jr. and Donald Trump fear the most.” The campaign also released its own ad, titled MAGA Lies.
